Now, they are ready for change. The Miami Dolphins have ruled quarterback Ryan Tannehill out of Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions, head coach Adam Gase told the media on Wednesday. Tannehill was able to practice with the team, but cannot throw a football due to the injury to his shoulder. According to reports, the shoulder injury is not the same one he sustained during the team’s Week 3 contest against the Oakland Raiders, but rather was something new that came up from the team’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 5. This comes as the NFL is now set to investigate the Dolphins’ handling of Tannehill on the injury report last week, according to the Miami Herald’s Armando Salguero. The Dolphins listed Tannehill as a full participant in Thursday’s practice, but head coach Adam Gase has said Brock Osweiler took some of the first team repetitions during that practice. According to NFL rules, a “limited” categorization should happen any time a player deviates from their normal workouts - in this case White Jakeem Grant Jersey , Tannehill not taking all of the first-team reps could be seen as a deviation and thus requiring the “limited” tag.The league could also look into Miami’s listing of Tannehill as “questionable” for the game. Reports Saturday night indicated Tannehill was likely more of a “doubtful” player for the game against the Chicago Bears, with the quarterback eventually being ruled out. However, according to Around the NFL’s Nick Shook, “With Tannehill existing on the injury report on Friday prior to the Dolphins’ eventual overtime win, though, it seems more likely than not that nothing substantial will come of this.”Brock Osweiler replaced Tannehill last week and will again this week. He was 28-for-44, a 63.6 completion percentage, for 380 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. He recorded a 94.9 passer rating. The Dolphins won 31-28 on a last second field goal in overtime over the Bears. They will kick off this week against the Lions at 1pm ET on Sunday from Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.
