RealmutoWith the likely departure of Yasmani Grandal, one of the Dodgers’ biggest needs is finding a catcher. It’s not every day the best player at a certain position is available via trade, and LA has been linked to one the entire offseason. Realmuto, 27, is regarded as the best catcher in all of baseball. He led all catchers in 2018 with a WAR of 4.3. In only 125 games, he hit 21 home runs and drove in 74, both career-highs. The Marlins know how good of a player they have, and it shows in their asking price for him. There’s no question that the Dodgers desperately want Realmuto. He’d be an instant upgrade, and another solid bat added in the lineup. However, it’s unclear if LA will meet Miami’s steep asking price.The Dodgers are high on Bellinger moving forward, so not sure if they would consider moving him. There’s no doubt that LA has the farm pieces to acquire Realmuto, it’s just a matter of them agreeing to include a major-leaguer as well, whether that be a Bellinger or a Yasiel Puig. The Dodgers have two things going for them in their favor. One, Miami reportedly wants to ship Realmuto outside of their division. With the other heavy suitor being the Mets, LA may have an upper-hand advantage. Two, It’s been reported that Miami’s asking price is decreasing by day, as they hope to dish him out soon.Though Ronald Acuna Jr. Jersey , with two highly touted catchers in the Dodgers farm system already, it raises the question on whether or not Realmuto is worth the price. Nick Castellanos With all the news surrounding Bryce Harper, the Dodgers have expressed interest in another outfielder. With Castellanos not even a top their list, it’s likely a deal never happens. However, this is something to take a look at. Should the Dodgers acquire a Realmuto or a Corey Kluber, they’d likely be sending away one or two of their starting outfielders, thus opening up a spot. As mentioned, the Dodgers will be strongly pushing towards signing Harper. Though, should the two teams not reach an agreement, Castellanos would be a great addition. Only 26 years old, Castellanos has quietly been one of the better outfielders in baseball over the last three seasons. Last year, he hit a career-best .298, to go along with 23 home runs and 89 RBI. Over the last three seasons, he’s hit .285/.336/.495/.831. On top of that, he has 67 homers and 248 RBI. Since 2016, Castellanos is one of 14 players with those numbers. Kelly, an LA native, was born in Anaheim, played high-school ball at Corona High School and played collegiate ball at the University of Riverside. He had a bit of a down year in 2018, posting an ERA of 4.39 and a WHIP of 1.35. However, he was practically lights out during Boston’s World Series push. In nine games, the 30-year-old had an ERA of 0.79, while opponents only hit .186 off of him. He had 13 strikeouts in 11 1? innings of work. The Dodgers know him too well, as they struggled against him in the World Series. Kelly threw six innings of shutout ball against LA, while striking out 10.
