With one week to go before UFC 205s blockbuster lightweight title fight, Tony Ferguson has certainly built a strong case to face the winner. Deion Sanders Youth Jersey .Ferguson (22-3) claimed his ninth victory in a row at UFC Fight Night on Saturday, defeating former champion Rafael dos Anjos via unanimous decision in Mexico City. All three judges saw it exactly the same, 48-47 in Fergusons favor. The five-round fight was probably not as close as scores indicated. With the exception of the opening round, Ferguson more or less imposed his will. He bloodied dos Anjos face with the jab and had tremendous success with the leg kick. He wobbled him with a knee in the fourth round and outlanded him in overall strikes 187-to-114.In the second round, dos Anjos complained to referee Herb Dean of an accidental eye-poke. Dean didnt stop the bout, but Ferguson willingly stopped the action and let dos Anjos recover. The Brazilian said the eye-poke continued to affect him after the restart but still credited Ferguson on the win.Tony was better tonight, dos Anjos said. I felt like his thing on my eyes bothered me a little in the second. I was seeing double. Thats no excuse. Tony did a great job. He was the better fighter tonight.Dos Anjos (25-9) has now dropped back-to-back fights for just the second time in his 12-year career. He looked sharp in the first frame, as he countered Fergusons pressure with an accurate left-hand counter. He also swept Ferguson clean off his feet with an outside leg kick.He appeared to find his timing again in the third, catching Ferguson with a high head kick and more straight lefts. Ferguson, 32, marched straight through the shots though and answered with offense of his own. He attempted a handful of awkward takedown attempts, barrel rolling into dos Anjoss ankles, but ultimately didnt need one to finish ahead on the scorecards.Ferguson, who trains out of Southern California, entered the weekend ranked the No. 4 lightweight in the world, according to ESPN.com. Dos Anjos, who lost the UFC 155-pound title to Eddie Alvarez in July, came in at No. 2.Ferguson was supposed to face Khabib Nurmagomedov in April but was forced to pull out due to injury. He eventually fought UFC newcomer Lando Vannata in July, whom he defeated by second-round submission. El Cucuy has finished six opponents during his current win streak.Sanchez surprises Held in debutVeteran lightweight Diego Sanchez added another upset win to his resume, as he outworked UFC newcomer Marcin Held in a three-round unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-27).Sanchez (26-10) avoided multiple submission attempts from Held (22-5), who tired as the fight wore on. The closest Held came to finishing the fight was with a standing guillotine in the first, but Sanchez, in a very unique move, somersaulted himself off the fence to break away from the hold.In the later rounds, Helds focus turned exclusively to submission attempts off his back. He rolled for one leg lock after another, but Sanchez calmly spun out of each and scored points from the top. He rocked Held with a big elbow out of the guard in the third.Sanchez, 34, has alternated wins and losses in his last six fights.Lamas forces Oliveira to tap outFeatherweight Ricardo Lamas (17-5) survived multiple bad positions in the opening round before eventually submitting Charles Oliveira (21-7) via guillotine choke at 2 minutes,13 seconds of the second round.Lamas, who had a scheduled fight against BJ Penn canceled last month, accepted the Oliveira bout, even after the Brazilian missed weight by 9 pounds on Friday.Oliveira got off to a good start, securing a body triangle in the first round and nearly finishing the fight with a rear-naked choke. Lamas managed to survive, however, and turn the tide in the second.Oliveira has now tapped to a guillotine in back-to-back fights. The submission ace fell to former lightweight champ Anthony Pettis in August. For Lamas, it marks his fifth career submission win.Dariush outpoints MagomedovLightweight Beneil Dariush (14-2) improved to 7-1 in his last eight fights, defeating Rashid Magomedov (19-2) via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28).Dariush immediately said he felt the effects of Mexico Citys high altitude, although it didnt prevent him from a victory. Fighting out of Kings MMA in Southern California, Dariush picked his shots on the feet and did well controlling position against Magomedov in the clinch.Thats where the majority of the fight took place. The two spent some time at a boxing range, trading punches, but the bout was won in the clinch. Dariush scored points with knees and consistently put Magomedovs back to the fence. The overall stats were close, however.Dariushs only loss in the last two years came via submission to Michael Chiesa in April. Magomedov suffered the first loss of his UFC career.Grasso successful in UFC debutMexican strawweight Alexa Grasso enjoyed a successful UFC debut, defeating Heather Jo Clark via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28).Grasso (9-0) outlanded Clark (7-6) 80-to-37 in total strikes according to Fightmetric. Grasso strung together a few good combinations early in the bout and popped Clark with several kicks to the body. Clarks nose was bloodied early in the fight. The 23-year-old Grasso appeared to slow down a bit in the third, but Clark couldnt mount a comeback. The loss was Clarks second in a row. She came up short to Polish title-challenger Karolina Kowalkiewicz in May.The UFC signed Grasso away from all-female fight promotion Invicta FC earlier this year. She has finished four of her nine career victories via knockout. Roger Staubach Youth Jersey . The mixed zone is not a place to make friends. Darren Woodson Cowboys Jersey . Two pressure cooker bombs exploded near the finish line of the April 15 race in an area packed with fans cheering the passing runners. Three people were killed and more than 260 injured, including at least 16 who lost limbs. http://www.cowboysfootballgearshop.com/l...er-esch-jersey/ . -- The St. Johns IceCaps weathered a wild first period with the help of goaltender Jussi Olkinuora, before finding offensive inroads in the second.HOMESTEAD, Fla. -- Joe Gibbs Racing fielded two of the four entries competing for the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup championship crown Sunday at Homestead-Miami Speedway, and the JGR Toyotas driven by Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch appeared to have the speed necessary to win the Ford EcoBoost 400.Then the stock car team owned by the Hall of Fame football coach fumbled late in the contest.Edwards was running second in the race and leading the four championship contenders as the field lined up for a restart with 10 laps remaining, with Busch not far behind. But Edwards attempt to block a fast-charging Joey Logano triggered a nine-car wreck and instantly took him out of the championship equation. Busch was then called in for a questionable stop for tires that left him too far behind for the green-white-checkered overtime finish to challenge race (and championship) winner Jimmie Johnson. For much of the 267-lap contest, Edwards looked like the driver to beat in terms of the championship, usually holding the upper hand over final four challengers Busch, Logano and Johnson. He led eight times for a total of 47 laps.Edwards and Busch were disputing second place (and the lead of the championship) behind race leader Kyle Larson in the closing stages when Dylan Lupton grazed the Turn 2 wall to bring out the caution on Lap 253.Larson maintained the lead in the pits and Edwards lined up on the inside of the front row for the restart. Meanwhile, a slow pit stop dropped Busch to sixth place. When the green flew to start the 258th lap, Logano immediately shot to Edwards inside. Edwards steered hard left, forcing both cars off the racetrack toward the inner wall on the approach to Turn 1.Logano caught his fishtailing car and continued into the corner. Edwards wasnt so lucky. After pounding the inside wall, the orange Camry shot up the track and was collected at near full speed by Kasey Kahnes Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet, shoving it slightly airborne and into hard contact with the outer wall.Six other cars were swept in, including the Furniture Row Racing Toyota of Martin Truex Jr., which briefly caught fire. None of the drivers was injured, but Edwards championship hopes were as badly damaged as his mangled race car.Five years removed from when he ended up second to Tony Stewart in the most memorable championship finish in Chase history, Edwards once again came away from Homestead empty-handed.They put it in my hands and thats all you can ask for, Edwards said. [Crew chief] Dave Rogers, my guys, everybody, they did a good job. It didnt work out. This is life. We performed well. We did our best. I just risked too much.Dave told me before this race that its a pretty big reward [the championship] and remember risk gets reward, he continued. I just had to push it. I couldnt go to bed tonight and think that I gave him that lane.Edwards stopped at Loganos pit to share a few words with Logano crew chief Todd Gordon. Despite the accident, there was no animosity from Logano or his team. Its cool that Carl came up and said that because I ddont blame him, Logano remarked. Tony Pollard Jersey. ?It was great racing. I understand why he had to throw the block and he understands why I had to make the move because that was for the win. That was the only shot that I had. That was for the race and with 10 [laps] to go, what do you expect?? Its for a championship.Thats just racing, he added. It hurt both of us, ultimately Carl a little bit more, but its unfortunate. While Edwards was out of the race, classified 34th, Logano and Busch were still in the thick of the championship battle -- and Logano indirectly influenced Buschs race.Logano pitted for minor repairs and fresh tires after a 31-minute red flag to clean up Edwards wreck. On the subsequent restart, he shot through the field from eighth place to third, flying past Busch in the process. The yellow flew again, and crew chief Adam Stevens called Busch in for tires. But he was mired deeper in the pack than Logano was, and while Logano finished fourth in the race, second among championship contenders, Busch could work his way back up only to sixth. We had one straightaway on our tires, and they [Logano] came in and put tires on and they just blitzed right up through the middle and got to us before we even got to Turn 1, Busch said. That just kind of killed it and ruined our race. All in all, we fought hard tonight, he added. We gave it everything we had. We didnt have the greatest race car today, but we had enough of one that we could run with those guys. All things considered, we had a really good run tonight -- just not good enough. It was a disappointing end to the 2016 campaign for the Gibbs organization, which at times during the season looked like it might put all four of its drivers into the Chase final.JGR cars led the most laps in 12 of the years 36 races, with the satellite Furniture Row Racing entry driven by Truex Jr. adding four more. But the Toyota attack fell short at Homestead. After Edwards and Busch led the race for the championship through 90 percent of the race, Johnson and Chevrolet snuck away with the title. They [Johnsons team] were nowhere all day, and just kind of ran around in sixth but never really showed their hand at all, Busch said. They didnt really show any speed, never led any laps until the last one -- and thats the only one that really matters.Busch at least has the satisfaction of knowing that he has a Cup Series title on his résumé. For Edwards, who has finished second in the standings twice (2008 and 2011), the wait -- and the weight -- continues. He vows to return stronger than ever.I was so proud of my guys and so happy with the performance, Edwards said. That run to catch Kyle and pass him, that was everything I had. That was the drive of my life and it didnt yield a championship, but I have a lot of pride in how we performed.I am telling you, this team is going to be on fire next year, he added. You watch out -- this is going to be awesome. ' ' '
