Skipper Fiona Brown is once again expecting Hibernian Ladies to push Glasgow City hard in the race for the Scottish Women’s Premier League title. Glasgow eventually finished six points clear of Hibs to clinch a record-breaking ninth title in Scottish womens football. And Brown is looking forward to resuming the rivalry with Hibs, insisting a strong challenge from the Edinburgh side will bring the best out of City as they go in search of double-digit title wins.I think last year Hibs ran us really close, Brown told Sky Sports News HQ at the leagues Hampden Park launch day.Its always good to have a good challenge but weve had a good pre-season and were looking good so were confident that if we play well we can go and do it.I think we put pressure on ourselves anyway to perform and I think the added pressure from Hibs is good to have. I think we did that last season but I just think we need to keep believing we can do it in the bigger games and Im sure will run them close again.The womens game is booming north of the border and Scottish Womens Football executive Vivienne MacLaren says authorities have set an ambitious growth target for participation.We have over 10,000 women and girls registered to play football in Scotland which is great news and we want that to hit the 20,000 mark by 2020, she said. Looking at the figures today we are near enough the 11,000 mark, so its really encouraging for girls and women in Scotland in terms of football and how it is growing. Prince Alis legal representatives have made an official request to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to postpone the event because of fears over voting arrangements.CAS confirmed: We have registered an appeal and request for urgent provisional measures filed by Prince Ali Al Hussein. FIFA has been invited to file written observations in reply to Prince Alis request. The request for provisional measures will be decided by CAS no later than the morning of Thursday 25 February.Al-Husseins chief concern is that middle men are offering money to the 209 member associations to vote for different candidates. Al-Hussein wants transparent voting booths used at the congress, but this request was rejected by FIFA, while there have also been suggestions he has asked voters to take a picture of their voting card for proof.Al-Husseins second concern is that two of the candidates, UEFAs Gianni Infantino and the Asian Football Confederations Sheik Salman, are backed by their own associations.They will therefore have more of their own people accredited and present at the Zurich congress, and Al-Hussein is concerned these people will try to cajole the 209 voters to vote for their men.Al-Husseins third complaint is that Infantino, the second favourite to win behind Sheik Salman, has admitted he has been talking to Michel Platini - the suspended FIFA president - on the phone, and that it is breaking election rules.
