This is a frustrating and confusing disease, and if he appears disconnected or unknowing, please dont take it personally.From 1982 until 1994, McCartney compiled a 93-55-5 record, coaching the Buffaloes to a share of the 1990 national championship. The finished No. 1 in the AP Poll, while Georgia Tech finished No. 1 in the Coaches Poll. Colorado won Big Eight Conference titles in 1989, 1990 and 1991. In 1989 he was named the Paul Bear Bryant Coach of the Year. ?He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as part of the 2013 class.He is receiving treatment and we are hoping this slows the progression of the disease, the family said.
