CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Hornets announced Sunday they have assigned small forward Jeffery Taylor and rookie power forward Noah Vonleh to the NBA D-League.The team announced the moves in two separate press releases on Sunday.Vonleh, the ninth overall pick in this years draft, will play for the Hornets D-League affiliate, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Taylor will play for the Austin Spurs as part of the flexible assignment rule. The rule was used in Taylors case by the Hornets because the Mad Ants had two NBA wing players on assignment at the time the Hornets initiated Taylors assignment to the D-League.Vonleh was slowed by a groin injury this summer and has only appeared in four games for Charlotte. He is averaging 2.5 points, 2.8 rebounds in eight minutes.Taylor missed the first 24 games of the season while serving a league-imposed suspension following his role in a domestic assault case. He has seen some spot duty for the Hornets since returning from the suspension, but has not broken into the teams rotation.General manager Rich Cho said both players will benefit from added playing time.
