Oosterhuis, who began his broadcasting career in the United States in 1995, was a long-time European Tour member before moving to the PGA Tour for 11 years from 1975-86. Golf has been a big part of my life ever since I was a little boy growing up in England and I thank CBS and Golf Channel for allowing me to continue in the sport after my playing days were over, Oosterhuis said. I feel it is the right time to step away to focus on things in life that I have always wanted to do. Oosterhuis joined Golf Channel in 1995, where he covered the first two events to ever air on the network. In 1998, Oosterhuis moved to CBS Sports full time and became a member of its golf announce team.
