PITTSBURGH, Pa. Scott Feldman Jersey . - The Pittsburgh Penguins dug into their past hoping to recreate a little magic. It did little to stop the Philadelphia Flyers from controlling the present.R.J. Umberger and Matt Read scored 2 minutes apart in the third period and the Flyers continued their road dominance over their in-state rivals with a convincing 5-3 win Wednesday night.Umberger, a Pittsburgh native, beat Marc-Andre Fleury 6:50 into the third to break a tie and Read followed with a backhander to help the Flyers improve to 12-2-1 at Consol Energy Center since the arena opened in 2010.Coming in here tonight and beating a good team on their ice to finish off a road trip, to me that shows a lot of character, Umberger said.Though the game featured two U.S. teams, the sell-out crowd sang O Canada before the opening faceoff to honour a Canadian soldier killed in attack in Ottawa on Wednesday.I thought it was a special tribute tonight, said Penguins coach Mike Johnston, who was born in Nova Scotia and has coached throughout Canada. Certainly when those events happen, they strike everybody.Sean Couturier had a goal and an assist, Mark Streit and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare also scored for the Flyers. Ray Emery stopped 21 shots as Philadelphia rebounded from a 4-0 loss in Chicago on Tuesday night to outplay the well-rested Penguins, playing for the first time in four days.I think we could definitely be sharper, Penguins centre Sidney Crosby said. Whether thats because we havent played a lot of games or we werent focused on executing the right way, It could be either of the two but we definitely werent sharp in a lot of areas.Nick Spaling had a goal and an assist for Pittsburgh. Pascal Dupuis and Marcel Goc also scored for Pittsburgh, but the Penguins were plagued by defensive breakdowns. Marc-Andre Fleury made 28 saves but was consistently put in tough spots as Philadelphia expertly counter-attacked to catch the Penguins out of position.I think it was one of those games where their energy caught fire and ours took a step back, Johnston said.Umberger, who grew up 20 minutes east of the arena, scored his first goal of the season when he blasted a feed from Claude Giroux by Fleury to break a 2-2 tie. Reads first tally was considerably easier, tucking a backhander past the sprawled Fleury to give the Flyers a cushion.Goc drew Pittsburgh within a goal when he beat Emery with 2:57 remaining, but Couturier flipped a puck the length of the ice into an empty net with 26 seconds left as the Flyers finished up a 2-1 road trip.I like the way we checked, Flyers coach Craig Berube said. I think in the neutral zone we did a real good job without the puck and took away their speed for the most part. The Penguins unveiled a new third jersey that replicated the uniform worn by the Mario Lemieux-led teams that won consecutive Stanley Cups in 1991 and 1992. The new old duds seemed to give Pittsburgh early energy.Spaling gave the Penguins an early lead with his first goal since being acquired in a draft day trade from Nashville in June, jumping on a rebound and beating Emery over his right shoulder just 3:50 into the game. The score seemed to temporarily deflate the Flyers. Pittsburgh controlled play for an extended stretch at one point, keeping the puck in the Philadelphia zone for the better part of a minute at even strength. The effort drew a standing ovation but no results, as Emery kept Philadelphia in it.The Flyers quickly gathered themselves and eventually countered. Streits slap shot from the point appeared to be deflected by Pittsburghs Evgeni Malkin to tie it and Bellemare, a 29-year-old rookie from France, scored his first NHL goal with a delicate tip-in off a centring pass from Couturier.Dupuis evened it 9 minutes into the second when Paul Martins shot from the point hit him and found its way around Emery but the Flyers controlled the third period to win going away.NOTES: Pittsburghs top-ranked power play went 0 for 2, the first time this season the Penguins have not scored with the man advantage. ... "Its pretty hard to coach there without allowing some of these things to kind of affect you," Wilson told TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun in his ESPN. Adam Duvall Jersey . Tyutin has missed the last nine games with an ankle injury which occurred while playing for Russia at the Olympics. The top-two defenceman has four goals and 20 assists, 30 penalty minutes and a plus-6 rating in 53 games with Columbus this season. http://www.redsgearshop.com/Reds-Joe-Morgan-Kids-Jersey/ . The American secured his first back-to-back ATP match wins since June to leave Tsonga relying on his performance at next weeks Paris Masters to clinch one of the final three places for the season-ending event in London. Tsonga would have moved up one spot to No. 6 with a win over Querrey at the City of Arts and Sciences, but his serve deserted him in the second set as the 116th-ranked American broke twice to reach the quarter-finals. VANCOUVER -- Losing some of its top executives leaves Hockey Canada with some big skates to fill. But Canada has the depth of talent to remain a winner on the international stage, says the man who coached the mens team to back-to-back Olympic gold medals. "I am really confident," Detroit Red Wing coach Mike Babcock said Monday. "The group at Hockey Canada have done great things and have lots of different people. "Thats part of it. Different people get opportunities. They grow from it and they move on. A new group will get an opportunity and thats great." Steve Yzerman, Team Canadas executive director at the last two Winter Olympics, has already said he will not lead the team at the 2018 Games at Pyeongchang, South Korea. Bob Nicholson, who spent 16 years as president and chief executive officer of Hockey Canada, stepped down in May to take a job overseeing business operations for the Edmonton Oilers of the NHL. Under Nicholson, Canadian hockey teams won seven Olympic gold medals. Brad Pascall, Hockey Canadas vice-president of hockey operations and national teams, has joined the NHLs Calgary Flames as an assistant general manager. Yzerman said Nickolson always stressed that Hockey Canadas role was to develop people for the next level. "Not only for players, but also for coaches, for managers, for all people," said Yzerman, the former Detroit star who is now general manager of the Tampa Bay Lightning. "I think Bobs great legacy at Hockey Canada is the structure he set up and the mentality of what we are trying to do in Canada with hockey. Great people will fill those shoes. With Bob Nicholson, those are big skates to fill. But I have no doubt there are tremendous people in this country with a passion and drive. The program will continue to succeed." Babcock and Yzerman were in Vancouver as part of the Hockey Canada Foundation Celebrity Classic. A Monday night gala paid tribute to the 2014 Order of Hockey Canada honourees coach Clare Drake, player France St-Louis and Yzerman. Also attending were members of the Olympic champion mens team, the womens team that won gold at the Sochi Olympics in Russia and the team that won the womens under-18 championship in Budapest. Babcock said Canada can be proud of its Olympic success but must continue to work hard if the country hopes to remain on top of the podium in four years. "You take a lot of pride in being the best," he said. "In order to be the best you have to find the best to win. "Were going to have to continue to grow our game over the next four years. If you want to have success at the next Olympics, 2014s effort wont be good enoough to win the next one. Anthony DeSclafani Jersey. We have to keep getting better." The NHL hasnt committed to sending its players to the 2018 Games. Among the leagues concerns are a 12-hour difference between Pyeongchang and the Eastern Time Zone, taking a break in the middle of the regular season, and the danger of players being injured. Sidney Crosby, the Canadas captain in Sochi, understands the problems but still thinks the Olympics are worth the effort. "I go back to my two experiences," said Crosby, who scored the Olympic winning goal in overtime in 2010 in Vancouver. "They were pretty good. "To think of all the things that had to happen to make them work, especially in Russia, it would be a similar case, maybe even a little more difficult the next one. Like I said, representing your country and to have those opportunities, I dont think that ever gets old, no matter what the situation. As a player, you want to be part of that." As a possible alternative to the Olympics, the NHL is discussing with the NHL Players Association about holding a World Cup of Hockey tournament in 2016. Yzerman said a World Cup has the potential to gain the same prestige as an Olympics. "It will take some time," he said. "The Olympics have been around for a long time on the world stage. If done right, I can see it being really successful." Babcock said the Olympics "are so special" because they are watched by people who are not even hockey fans. "My mom never watches sports but she watches the Olympics Games," he said. "People who are not interested in sport still follow it. "I think its the greatest opportunity, best-on-best, to celebrate the sport. Its something you want to be part of and you want other people to be part of. Its a thrill of a lifetime." All three people named to the Order of Hockey in Canada were recognized for their contributions to the game. Yzerman played 22 seasons in the NHL and played for Team Canada eight times, including at two Winter Olympics. As a member of Canadas national womens team St-Louis won five world championships and a silver medal at the 1998 Olympics. In 28 seasons as head coach of the University of Alberta Golden Bears Drake led his teams to six national championships and 17 Canada West titles. Babcock compared Drake to legendary NCAA basketball coach John Wooden. "He is one of the builders of hockey in Canada," said Babcock. "Clare is a gentleman who shared everything he had. He tried to make us all better. "He led the way so guys like myself, who werent NHL players, could one day coach in the NHL."
