OTTAWA Air Presto Sale , June 10 (Xinhua) -- The Canadian government said on Wednesday it has signed a contract worth 4.5 million U.S. dollars with the U.S.-based Mapp Biopharmaceutical to manufacture ZMapp monoclonal antibody (mAb) medicine against Ebola virus that ravaged West Africa.


"Canada has dedicated considerable resources to support health, humanitarian and security efforts on Ebola at home and abroad. Investing in this promising technology strengthens our capacity to respond quickly to protect the health of Canadians," Canadian Minister of Health Rona Ambrose said in a statement.


ZMapp has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for clinical trials in the United States and West Africa and has shown promise when used to treat infected individuals.


The ZMapp medicine, developed by Mapp Biopharmaceutical Air Presto Grey , uses two mAbs discovered by scientists at the Public Health Agency of Canada's National Microbiology Laboratory and one mAb discovered by the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases.


The contract secures Canada's access to the Ebola treatment.


Ebola has killed 11,158 of the 27,237 people infected, the WHO said in its latest situation report.


Access to the ZMapp Ebola medicine will complement the Canadian government's overall Ebola preparedness and response activities Air Presto Yellow , the statement said, adding that these activities also include funding for clinical trials for Canada's VSV-EBOV Ebola vaccine, strengthened border measures to screen travelers, and domestic Ebola Rapid Response Teams.


As these innovative experimental treatments are experimental and not yet authorized for commercial use Air Presto All White , they would only be used for emergency compassionate use to treat a patient once they have contracted Ebola.


Canada has committed a total of more than 110 million Canadian dollars (some 90 million U.S. dollars) to support health, humanitarian, and security interventions to address the spread of the disease and for further research and development of Ebola medical countermeasures.


Ebola treatments that use mAbs are designed and engineered to find, attach and effectively coat the Ebola virus preventing replication and multiplication of the virus in the body. This allows the body time to mount the appropriate immune response and recover from the infection.

LOS ANGELES， Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Action film "Suicide Squad" held onto its spot atop the North American box office in its second weekend of release， surpassing two well-reviewed debuted films "Sausage Party" and "Pete's Dragon" .


"Suicide Squad" took 43.7 million U.S. dollars， dropping 67.3 percent compared with last weekend， according to estimated figures released on Sunday by comScore.


The 175 million dollars budget film has grossed up to 222.8 million dollars in North America， while it added another 58.7 million dollars in its second weekend internationally， bringing its global revenue to 465.3 million dollars after 12 days in worldwide release.


Sony's R-rated animated comedy "Sausage Party" took the second spot， earning 33.6 million dollars in its debut weekend from 3，103 theaters in the United States and Canada.


"Sausage Party" was written by Seth Rogen and starring the voices of Rogen and Kristen Wiig. It is about talking food products in a supermarket who hatch a plan to avoid being eaten by the human customers. The film got an impressive 82 percent of approval rate on RottenTomatoes and a "B" rating score from the audience.


Disney's "Pete's Dragon，" a remake of the 1977 classic film， placed in third in its first weekend of release with 21.5 million dollars. It earned an "A" from first-night moviegoers on CinemaScore and an 85 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Families composed to 66 percent of its audience.


"Jason Bourne" was fourth with 13.6 million dollars， while "Bad Moms" was fifth with 11.4 million dollars. Both of those films were in their third weekend of release.


Rounding out the rest top 10 films this weekend were "The Secret Life of Pets" (8.8 million dollars)， "Star Trek Beyond" (6.8 million)， "Florence Foster Jenkins" (6.5 million)， "Nine Lives" (3.5 million) and "Lights Out" (3.2 million).
