SUNRISE, Fla. Allen Patrick College Jersey . -- The Chicago Blackhawks won their first shootout of the season and showed signs that their scoring woes could be a thing of the past. Jonathan Toews and Patrick Sharp each scored in the shootout to lift the Blackhawks to a 3-2 win over the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night. Toews also scored in regulation, Bryan Bickell added a goal and Corey Crawford made 20 saves. The Blackhawks havent scored in the third period since the season opener and lost two shootouts earlier this season. "Were not happy with giving up leads in the third period," Sharp said. "Wed like to close teams out by scoring in the third period and get out of here, but when the games get tight we seem to play better and thats important. It would be a lot worse if we were coming away with no points instead of two." Sharp beat goalie Jacob Markstrom on the glove side for the deciding shootout goal. The Blackhawks have won five of their past six games and extended their point streak to six games. Florida has lost four of its last five games and has lost to Chicago four straight times. Dmitry Kulikov and Tomas Fleischmann scored for the Panthers and Tim Thomas stopped 25 shots before leaving with 2:59 left in the game due to an apparent lower body injury. Markstrom entered the game and made two saves. Thomas was in his third start after missing four games due to a groin injury. After making a stop, Thomas bent to the ice in discomfort. When play stopped, he went to the bench. "I didnt want him to not be able to play out there, either maybe hurt himself a little bit more, or not be able to play to his full potential," Panthers coach Kevin Dineen said. "I dont have an update on where he is. We probably will tomorrow." Trailing 2-0, the Panthers scored two goals in less than three minutes in the third. They closed to 2-1 on Fleischmanns goal at 9:04. Aleksander Barkov passed across to Fleischmann in the lower right circle. His slap shot beat Crawford on the glove side. Kulikov took a shot from the high slot that got past Crawford at 11:51 that tied it at 2 and put the Panthers back in it and enabled them to salvage a point. "We stayed resilient," Floridas Kris Versteeg said. "It was a nice point, but again weve got to find a way to get those extra points." Chicago coach Joel Quenneville is satisfied with the Blackhawks effort. "I dont think were playing any different than the first two periods. I dont think were sitting on leads," Quenneville said. "Were not complaining, lets put it that way." The Blackhawks took a 1-0 lead on Toews power-play goal at 5:18 of the second. Duncan Keith made a nice pass from the top of the left circle to Toews skating in on the right side. His backhanded shot beat Thomas. Chicago stretched its lead to 2-0 at 16:49 of the second. Bickell brought the puck to the left circle and wristed it past Thomas high into the net. Bickells goal was his second in two games. The Panthers were awarded a penalty shot at 9:24 of the second after Jonathan Huberdeau was tripped by Michal Handzus stick. Huberdeau couldnt get the puck past Crawford, who made a pad save on his right side. NOTES: The Blackhawks havent scored a third-period goal since the season opener. . Or, for that matter, the aged. GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Eddie Lacy is back after another concussion, and he is pondering a couple of changes. The bruising Green Bay Packers running back returned to practice Thursday as a full participant after getting knocked out of last weeks loss to Seattle in the season opener. He appears ready to assume his normal workload in Sundays home opener against the New York Jets. It was Lacys second concussion in nearly a year, enough to get him thinking about adjusting his running style. "Somehow Ill have to figure out a way to change the way I run, but still keep the physical part of it," Lacy said. "Its not really something Im trying to change as of now. I guess as I get older I will figure out how it goes." The second change appears to be more immediate. Starting in training camp, Lacy had been wearing a new helmet designed to better safeguard against concussions. "Thats what we all thought," Lacy said. Hes switching to his old helmet on Friday. "I tried it out, and I think Ill go back," Lacy said. The 2013 Offensive Rookie of the Year said he never had a concussion before suffering one against the Redskins on Sept. 15, 2013. But the aftereffects from that concussion, which he absorbed while wearing his old helmet, were apparently worse. "I actually remember nothing when I got hit last year," Lacy said. "But on this one I know everything that happened on that play and the play after and all the way until today. It was nowhere near as bad as last year." The latest concussion occurred after getting hit by safety Kam Chancellor. Lacy said he isnt sure whether the new heelmet may have limited the severity of his latest concussion, because he didnt suffer a second concussion wearing his old helmet. Stitched Oklahoma Jerseys. Whichever helmet he uses, and whenever he tweaks his running style, Lacy doesnt seem too worried right now about the long term. He sported his usual, easygoing attitude after practice. "You cross that bridge when you get there. Some guys it happened to, some guys come out perfectly fine no matter how many concussions they had," he said. "You dont know what the future holds, so Im not worried about it." Lacy was held to 34 yards on 12 carries against the tough Seahawks defence in last weeks 36-16 loss. He won the Offensive Rookie of the Year award last season after rushing for 11 touchdowns and more than 1,100 yards. Green Bay last played on Sept. 4, so Lacy had a few extra days to rest after getting the weekend off. After sitting out Wednesdays practice, Lacy resumed normal activities on Thursday. He pronounced himself ready if coach Mike McCarthy decides to give him 25 carries. Running back coach Sam Gash will leave it up to Lacy on whether he wants to tweak his style. "Hes a physical guy. I dont get into him changing what hes doing. Hes been successful in the NFL and hes going to continue to do what makes him successful," Gash said. "If thats him feeling like he needs to change, thats what we would obviously talk about." Starting right tackle Bryan Bulaga, who hurt his left knee against Seattle, also practiced for a second straight day on a limited basis, as did tight end Brandon Bostick, who is coming back from a leg injury.
