(STATS) -- The numbers are impressive -- the best in the FCS -- but all Samford and Chattanooga want on Saturday is one.One big victory in the Southern Conference. The direction of the conferences title race would change dramatically if Samford pulls a road upset at Finley Stadium. Fifth-ranked Chattanooga (3-0) has claimed at least a share of the last three SoCon titles and is favored to win it again, but the unranked Bulldogs (2-0) think they were mostly overlooked in the preseason.Their matchup pits a Chattanooga squad that ranks No. 1 nationally in fewest points (4.7), total yards (164.3) and passing yards (102.7) allowed per game against a Samford squad that is top-ranked in scoring offense (56 ppg). Its really impressive, Chattanooga linebacker Nakevion Leslie, the teams leading tackler, said about the big start to the season. We are going to have a lot of targets coming at us and we will need to prepare and do everything we can to try and stay at the top. Thatll win us football games. We dont like giving up points at all, but there are a lot of good offenses that are evolving so we need to evolve as a defense as well. The Mocs are bracing to face much more passing Saturday. Samford has been a different team since Devlin Hodges became the starting quarterback midway through last season. As a redshirt sophomore this season, hes been highly efficient while completing 62 of 84 attempts (73.8 percent) for 595 yards and eight touchdowns with only one interception. The Bulldogs will spread out the Chattanooga defense with four-wide receiver sets, led by Emmanuel Obajimi, TaDarryl Marshall and Kelvin McKnight. But the Mocs have smothered opponents, going the first 171 minutes, 51 seconds of the season -- over 11 quarters -- before allowing a point. The Mocs defensive line has been particularly stout. With Keionta Davis, the SoCon preseason defensive player of the year, commanding attention, the other defensive end, Vantrel McMillan, has roamed into backfields for 6 1/2 tackles for loss and four sacks.Theyre the best in the league, Samford coach Chris Hatcher said. Theyre the three-time champs. Theyre very simple in what they do, theyre very well coached and they play hard. Theyre not a top-five team in the country for nothing. Theyll be the best team thats left on the schedule. The gaudy statistics may be a bit deceptive. Samfords first game was a 77-7 win over Division II Mars Hill, although the Bulldogs then went on the road for an impressive 35-29 win over Central Arkansas. Chattanoogas opponents are a combined 1-8, its toughest being Furman last Saturday.---=FCS GAME OF THE WEEK=The Matchup: No. 4 Eastern Washington (2-1, 0-0 Big Sky) at Northern Arizona (1-2, 0-0)Kickoff: 7 p.m. ET Saturday at Walkup Skydome (10,000) in Flagstaff, ArizonaTelevision: Fox Sports Arizona, Fox Sports Prime Ticket, SWX, WatchBigSky.comSeries: Eastern Washington leads 19-12 (most recent meeting: NAU won 52-30 last Nov. 8 in Cheney, WashingtonThe Skinny: Northern Arizonas second straight win in the series last season started Eastern Washington on a three-game Big Sky losing streak which ended its three-year run as conference champion. The visiting Eagles are deep at quarterback and could keep Gage Gubrud as the starter or go with Reilly Hennessey, who came off the bench against Northern Iowa. They are hopeful of getting All-America Cooper Kupp (shoulder injury) back on their deep wide receivers unit. The defense, maligned through the years, has played well in the second half of the Washington State and UNI wins. Linebacker Zach Bruce has a team-high 29 tackles.Eastern contained Northern Arizona QB Case Cookus relatively well in last years game, but the sophomore is coming off the second seven-touchdown performance of his career. WRs Elijah Marks and Emmanuel Butler are off to strong starts, but one of the keys to the offense is to get running backs Kendyl Taylor and Corbin Jountti chewing up yards against the EWU defensive front. The Lumberjacks defense has done a good job of applying a pass rush from all directions.Prediction: This could be a track meet. Northern Arizona, 38-35.---=STATS FCS TOP 25 SCHEDULE=X-Predicted WinnerSaturday, Sept. 24All Times ETX-No. 11 James Madison (2-1, 0-0 CAA) at Maine (0-2, 0-0), noon -- So, youre the team weve heard about. Hydro Flask Coffee 12 Oz . JOHNS, N. CLEVELAND -- Robert Griffin III shook off some rust, then couldnt jolt the Browns to a win.Theyre 0-13, three losses from infamy and shame.Griffin returned from injury and played for the first time in three months, but didnt stop Cleveland from falling closer to a 0-16 finish as the Cincinnati Bengals built a big early lead and held off the winless Browns 23-10 on Sunday in the snow.Andy Dalton threw two touchdown passes in the first half to Tyler Eifert as the Bengals (5-7-1) kept their playoff chances pulsating for another week.Griffin hadnt played since the Sept. 11 opener, when he broke a bone in his left shoulder. He had a handful of positive plays, showed poise under pressure and most importantly, survived to play another week.He showed that he belongs, coach Hue Jackson said. He has to get better in some areas. I am not running from that, but for the first time back out late in the season like this, I thought he held his own.Griffin scored on a 1-yard sneak in the third quarter, but the Browns (0-13) lost their 16th straight dating to Dec. 13 last season. Cleveland has lost 23 of 24 and 31 of 34 since the end of 2014.The Browns have three games left to avoid joining the 2008 Detroit Lions as the NFLs only 0-16 teams. Were not going 0-16, said rookie linebacker Emmanuel Ogbah. Were going to keep fighting to the very end. We still have three more games left.Griffin finished 12 of 28 for 104 yards and one interception. After posting a 0.00 QB rating in the first half, the 26-year-old was able spark a brief comeback and felt satisfied with his performance.I felt like I saw the field well, said Griffin, who was pleased he was able to absorb some big hits. All thats a side note, you want to find a way to win.Isaiah Crowell was a bright spot for Cleveland, rushing for 113 yards on 10 carries.Dalton, who has had some of his best games against Cleveland, connected twice in the first half with Eifert as the Bengals bullied the NFLs worst team for 30 minutes. The Browns battled back in the second half, getting within 10 in the fourth before Cincinnatis Mike Nugent kicked a 44-yard field goal with 8:38 left.Cincinnati has some work to do and needs plenty of help to make the postseason for tthe sixth straight year.dddddddddddd The Bengals entered Sunday 2 1/2 games behind Pittsburgh and Baltimore in the AFC North.Obviously, we wasted some opportunities earlier in the year, but we want to finish strong, Dalton said. Thats all we can do to help ourselves. For the Browns, the 2016 season cant end soon enough. The Browns had another moment to symbolize their lost season when their Brownie The Elf mascot slipped on the sideline and fell while trying to retrieve a ball that bounced out of bounds following a punt.Even without star wide receiver A.J. Green, the Bengals sucked the life out of the Browns and any strong-stomached Cleveland fans willing to brave the cold in this calamitous season by scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter.Cincinnati took the opening kickoff and drove 73 yards as Dalton connected with Eifert for a 14-yard TD. After the Browns punted, Jeremy Hills 1-yard plunge capped Cincinnatis second possession to make it 13-0 -- Nugents extra point was blocked -- and it became very clear the Bengals had not overlooked the Browns, who were coming off their bye week.Daltons second TD to Eifert, a 5-yard pass on third down, put the Bengals up 20-0.I dont know what they (Browns) were doing because I dont think he was matched up against anybody, Dalton said. I was surprised how easy it was.DUBIOUS COMPANYThe Browns are making history with every loss. They are the seventh team since 1962 to start 0-13, joining the 08 Lions, 1980 Saints, 1976 Buccaneers, 2011 Colts, 2007 Dolphins and 1962 Raiders.LONDON BOUNDThe Browns will play in London next season, the teams first visit to England since playing an exhibition game there in 1989.The NFL has increased its commitment to the United Kingdoms market and will have four games in London next season. Its not known yet if the Browns will be giving up a home game to make the trip.A league spokesman said an official announcement will be made Tuesday.UP NEXT:Bengals: Host Pittsburgh on Dec. 18Browns: At Buffalo on Dec. 18---For more NFL coverage: http://www.pro32.ap.org and http://www.twitter.com/AP-NFL Cheap Throwback Baseball Detroit Tigers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Colorado Rockies Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Houston Astros Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Kansas City Royals Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Los Angeles Angels Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Los Angeles Dodgers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Miami Marlins Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Milwaukee Brewers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Minnesota Twins Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball New York Mets Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball New York Yankees Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Oakland Athletics Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Philadelphia Phillies Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Pittsburgh Pirates Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball San Diego Padres Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball San Francisco Giants Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Seattle Mariners Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball St. Louis Cardinals Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Tampa Bay Rays Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Texas Rangers Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Toronto Blue Jays Jerseys Cheap Throwback Baseball Washington Nationals Jerseys ' ' '
