HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Penn State football coach Joe Paterno, told by a teenage boy in 1976 that assistant coach Jerry Sandusky molested him in a shower, responded that he didnt want to hear about it and had a football season to worry about, according to court documents unsealed Tuesday. The boy, now a man identified as John Doe 150, said in 2014 that other boys in a shower heard him yell that Sandusky had just touched him sexually. He said he told several adults about it before seeking out Paterno. Is it accurate that Coach Paterno quickly said to you, `I dont want to hear about any of that kind of stuff, I have a football season to worry about? a lawyer for Penn States insurance carrier asked the man.Specifically, yes, the man replied.I was shocked, disappointed, offended. I was insulted, John Doe 150 testified. I said, `Is that all youre going to do?He said Paterno just walked away.Excerpts of the mans testimony were among dozens of documents made public Tuesday in Penn States fight with Pennsylvania Manufacturers Association Insurance Co. over payments to Sanduskys accusers. Sandusky was convicted in 2012 of dozens of child sexual abuse counts and is serving decades in prison while he appeals.A judge disclosed the existence of the 1976 allegation two months ago, along with claims Penn State coaches witnessed inappropriate contact between Sandusky and children in the 1980s, but the newly unsealed documents provided greater detail.Paterno told a grand jury in 2011 he first learned of Sanduskys inappropriate sexual contact in 2001, though records show high-ranking Penn State officials dealt with a complaint in 1998 from a woman whose son had showered with Sandusky.Paterno died in January 2012, two months after Sanduskys arrest. A lawyer for his family said elements of John Doe 150s story defy all logic and theres evidence that stands in stark contrast to his claims.A lawyer for Sandusky, who retired in 1999, also denied the allegation.Testimony made public Tuesday suggested some Penn State coaches were aware of Sanduskys abuse decades ago.Mike McQueary, a former assistant coach who told Paterno he saw Sandusky abusing a boy in a team shower in 2001, said in a 2015 deposition former defensive coordinator Tom Bradley was not shocked when told of it.Bradley, who briefly took over as head coach after Paternos firing, said he knew of some things about Sandusky dating to the 1980s, McQueary testified.McQueary said Bradley told him hed been approached by someone in the 80s who saw Sandusky doing something to a boy and in the 90s former assistant coach Greg Schiano saw Sandusky in the shower with a boy.Bradley, now the defensive coordinator at UCLA, and Schiano, who holds the same position at Ohio State, denied witnessing any inappropriate behavior at Penn State. The newly unsealed documents also provide additional information about 1987 and 1988 encounters accusers say were witnessed by coaching staff.A man called John Doe 75 said in a 2014 deposition assistant football coach Joe Sarra walked into a coaches meeting room in 1987 and saw Sandusky with his hands down the then-13-year-old boys shorts.John Doe 75 said Sarra may have said something like, Oh, sorry, and immediately walked out. Sarra died four years ago.A 2014 deposition by a man called John Doe 101 said Sandusky fondled him when he was a boy inside a crowded Penn State pool and coaches often saw him showering with Sandusky. But the one coach the man named said he wasnt working there at the time. The records also include an insurance company lawyers analysis that Penn State overpaid to settle with Sanduskys accusers, possibly as a result of the universitys concern about publicity and a desire to resolve the matter quickly.Lawyer Eric Anderson said Penn State made little effort, if any, to verify the credibility of the claims. The university has paid $92 million to settle claims from 32 Sandusky accusers.Lawyer Ken Feinberg, who helped mediate claims against the university, said the process was very objective and none of the cases was easy to resolve. He said Penn State was diligent in making sure the claims were supported by sufficient proof.---Associated Press writers Maryclaire Dale and Michael R. Sisak in Philadelphia contributed to this report. Curt Schilling Jersey . Hi Kerry, Heres an interesting one. I know its common knowledge that all players are responsible for their sticks. We witnessed that when Zack Kassian hit Edmontons Sam Gagner in the face after a missed check. The Indianapolis Colts have bought themselves a chance in the AFC South race. But are they equipped to take advantage of it Thursday night?Monday nights revelation that quarterback Andrew Luck has entered into the NFLs concussion protocol comes at a really bad time for Indianapolis. Because it is hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers Thursday night at Lucas Oil Stadium to round out the slate of Thanksgiving games, Luck has three fewer days to make it through protocol.Luck, who was injured in Sundays 24-17 win over the Tennessee Titans early in the fourth quarter but still finished the game, seems like a long shot to make it through protocol by 8:30 Thursday night. Of the players who have been placed in protocol this year, just one has passed all the tests required to play in fewer than five days.Given that backdrop -- and some players do recover quicker than others, although most teams arent cavalier when it comes to head injuries -- it appears likely that Scott Tolzien will run the Colts in this critical game.Tolzien, who was Aaron Rodgers backup in Green Bay the last three years, started two games in Rodgers stead during the 2013 season. He threw for 339 yards at the New York Giants, although he also tossed three interceptions in a 27-13 loss, and was less impressive in a game against Minnesota before getting hooked in a game the Packers rallied to tie.Since that game, Tolzien has tossed one pass, completing it last year for four yards. Barring a stunningly quick recovery by Luck, Tolzien will throw many more passes in this one.Weve got a guy that comes to work every single day and prepares like a starter ever since hes been in this building, Indianapolis coach Chuck Pagano said. He understands and knows this offense and if thats the case, hell go out and play winning football. At 5-5, the Colts are only a game back of Houston in the division, thanks to the Texans 27-20 loss Monday night to Oakland in Mexico City. A win Thursday night would cut that deficit in half, and Houston must host San Diego, which is coming off its bye, Sunday on a short week and after the rigors of playing in 7,500-foot altitude. So the table is set for Indianapolis, even if it doesnt have all the ingredients it would like. You dont ever want to bbe without anybody, but we have been down this road before and we have handled it well, Pagano said.dddddddddddd Faced a bunch of adversity and obstacles just like everybody else.Pittsburgh (5-5) certainly wont display any sympathy for the Colts. It had to play New England last month without quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, and predictably lost. That was one of four straight losses that dropped the Steelers under .500.But Pittsburgh snapped its skid Sunday with a 24-9 win at 0-11 Cleveland, enabling it to tie Baltimore for first place in the AFC North as the Ravens lost in Dallas. Its really big when you have a win like this, linebacker Ryan Shazier said. Wed been on a losing streak, so getting a win is really going to help everybody get into a better mood. We just need to get where we want to go and where we need to go.Aside from having about two days of prep time before flying to Indianapolis Wednesday, the Steelers appear to have most of the advantages in this one. Their key players are available and relatively healthy, unlike the Colts, who might also be without second-leading tackler Clayton Geathers (concussion).Pittsburghs point of emphasis for Thursday night might be finishing off drives. The Steelers constructed four drives of at least 11 plays at Cleveland, but settled for field goals on three of them as a spate of mistakes helped stall them out.We have to clean some things up from a detail standpoint when we get into the red zone, running back LeVeon Bell said. We got away with it (against Cleveland) but other games we may not. Well watch the film and see what we have to clean up. The details have to be better.Bell was at his best against the Browns, accounting for 201 total yards from scrimmage and scoring a touchdown on the last play of the first half with a 1-yard run.Indianapolis is playing just its third Thanksgiving game. Its 2-0 on this holiday, winning at Detroit in 2004 and Atlanta in 2007. ... Pittsburgh LB James Harrison set the franchises all-time sacks record Sunday in Cleveland, taking Cody Kessler down to give him 77.5 sacks in his career and passing Jason Gildon. ' ' '
